| 内容記述 | Report on the ecological survey of freshwater planarians in the western part of the Iiidaka distirct in Hokkaido. Masaharu KAWAKATSU(Biological Laboratory, Fuji Women's College, Sapporo) and Mineo SHIMAMURA(Hokkaido Tomikawa High School, Tomikawa-cho). The vertical distribution of freshwater planarians in the western part of the Iiidaka district in Hokkaido (cf. Fig. 1) is reported in the present paper. The area surveyed is the south-western slope of the Hidaka Mountain Range. The main river systems are the Mukawa, the Saru, the Monbetsu, and the Nikappu. The surveys in most of the stations were made from spring to autumn of 1967, 1968, 1969, and 1970. In the area surveyed, seven species of freshwater planarians were found: Dugesia japonica ICHIKAWA et KAWAKATSU, Phagocata vivida (IJIMA et KABURAKI), Polycelis sapporo (IJIMA et KABURAKI), Polycelis akkeshi ICHIKAWA et KAWAKATSU, Polycelis auriculata IJIMA et KABURAKI, Dendrocoelopsis lactea ICHIKAWA et OKUGAWA, and Dendrocoelopsis ezensis ICHIKAWA et OKUGAWA. D. japonica was only found in the stations near the seashore at Seppu (alt. 20m). Ph. vivida was most common in the stations below the altitudes of about 100 m. The species was also found in some mountain streams below the altitudes of about 740 m. Pol. sapporo and Pol. akkeshi were common in the stations below the altitudes of about 900 m. Pol. auriculata was common in the cold-water stations within altitudes from about 200 to 1520 m. The species was also found in some cold-water stations near the seashore (alt. 15 m). Den. lactea and Den. ezensis were only found in some stations at Tomikawa-cho and Monbetsu-cho, (alt. 10～40 m). The inhabitable water temperature range of these species was as follows : D. japonica (19～20.0 ℃). Ph. vivida (6.0～16.O℃), Pol. sappero and Pol. akkcshi (4.2～20.O℃), Pol. auriculata (4.2～16.O℃), Den. lactea (9.0～16.O℃), and Den. ezensis (14.0～15.O℃). The type of the vertical distribution in the area surveyed is shown as JSV-SVA-VA-A (the japonica-vivida-sapporo-auriculata area). | |||||
