これら3種顆の垂直分布範囲と,ほぼ夏季における棲息水温範囲は,D.j.japonicaが140~1430m(5.8~24.5℃),Ph.vividaが540~2100m(2.5~18.4℃),Pol. auriculataが540~2200m(2.5~18.4℃)であった。垂直分布型はJ-JV-JVA-VA-Aのように示される。

内容記述 | Report on the ecological survey of freshwater planarians in the Mt. Akagi-san district, the Mt. Haruna-san district, the Oze-ga-hara Moor, and the Taishaku Mountains, Honshu. Masaharu KAWAKATSU (Biological Laboratory, Fuji Women's College, Sapporo), Mitsuaki KATAYAMA (Maebashi-Minami High School, Maebashi), Isao HORIKOSHI (Mitsukaido Dai'ichi High School, Mitsukaido), and Hitoshi MURAYAMA (Kashiwazaki Agricultural High School, Kashiwazaki). The vertical distribution of freshwater planarians in the Oze-ga-hara Moor, the Taishaku Mountains and the adjacent mountainous districts in the northern part of the Kanto Region in Honshu (Lat. 138°45' E. to Lat. 140°00' E. and Long. 36°25' N. to Long. 37°20' N.) was surveyed during the years 1967 to 1977. In the area surveyed, both Mt. Akagi-san and Mt. Haruna-san are dormant volcanoes belonging to the Nasu Volcanic Zone. The Oze-ga-hara Moor is the widest highland moor of Japan. It consists of a moor (alt. ca. 1400m) and Lake Oze-numa at an elevation of 1665 meters (ca. 6-km shoreline). There are several dormant volcanoes of over-2000 meters around the moor. The Taishaku Mountains are a rather short mountain range (the highest peak, Mt. Taishaku-yama, is 2060m in altitude). The Nasu Volcanic Zone runs at the southern side of the Taishaku Mountains. There are several hot springs in this area. The main river systems in the area surveyed are the upper streams of the Tonegawa River (the Watarase River, the Agatsuma River, the Katashina River, the Kinu-gawa River, etc.), the Shinano-gawa River (the Saguri-gawa River), the Agano-gawa River (the Tadami-gawa River, the Inami-gawa River, the Okawa River, etc.), and the Naka-gawa River. In the area surveyed, three species of freshwater planarians, Dugesia japonica japonica ICHIKAWA et KAWAKATSU, Phagocata vivida (IJIMA et KABURAKI) and Polycelis auriculata IJIMA et KABURAKI, were found. D. j. japonica was found to be common at the stations below the altitude of about 1430 meters. Ph. vivida was common at the stations within the altitude range of about 540 to 2100 meters. This species is very rare in the volcanic area of the northeastern and southeastern parts of the Taishaku Mountains. Pol. auriculata was found at the stations within the altitude range of about 540 to 2200 meters. The inhabitable water temperature range of these species was as follows : D. j. japonica, 5.8~24.5℃ ; Ph. vivida, 2.5~18.4℃ ; Pol. auriculata, 2.5~18.4℃. The type of the vertical distribution in the area surveyed is shown as J-JV-JVA-VA-A (the japonica-vivida-auriculata area).
