内容記述 | Report on the ecological survey of freshwater planarians in the southern part of Shikoku and the southeastern part of Kyushu, with an additional note on the southern limit of distribution of Phagocata vivida in Southwest Japan. Masaharu KAWAKATSU(Biological Laboratory, Fuji Women's College, Sapporo) and Nobuo TAKAHASHI(The First Middle School of Takatsuki, Takatsuki). The vertical distribution of freshwater planarians in the southern part of Shikoku (Lat. 32°40'N. to Lat. 33°45'N. and Long. 132°30'E. to 134°15'E.) and the southeastern part of Kyushu (Lat. 31°50'N. to Lat. 32°20'N. and Long. 131°l0' E. to 131°50'E.) was surveyed during the years 1976 to 1977. Two species of freshwater planarians, Dugesia japonica japonica ICHIKAWA et KAWAKATSU, 1964 and Phagocata vivida (IJIMA et KABURAKI,1916), were found in the area surveyed. D. j. japonica was common at the stations below the altitude of about 830 meters (Mt. Okue-yama in Kyusyu) and 1140 meters (Tengu-kogen Height in Shikoku), respectively. Ph. vivida was found at the stations within the altitude range from about 560 to 1140 meters. The species is, however, very rare in the area surveyed. The inhabitable water temperature ranges of both species are as follows : D. j. japonica (13.4~24.0℃) ; Ph. vivida (13.0~22.0℃). The geographical distribution range of Ph. vivida in South Japan has been made clear. The species is distributed on the northern side of the demarcation line drawn from Mt. Takayoshimori, over the Tengu-kogen Height to Mt. Sasa-yama in Shikoku and from Mt. Okue-yama, over Mt. Osuzu-yarna, Mt. Wani-no-tsuka-yama, Mt. Shiraga-dake, Mt. Kunimi-dake, Mt. Sanpo-yama, Mts. Kuju-san, Mt. Yaho-gadake, Mt. Hagane-yama to Mt. Tara-gadake in Kyushu (cf. Fig. 1). The type of the vertical distribution in the area on the northern side of the above-mentioned demarcation line is shown as J-JV-V (the japonica-vivida area). That of the southern area is shown as J (the japonica area). | |||||
