| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to identify concrete teaching methods for the acquisition of a deeper understanding and interest in Japanʼs clothing culture as a part of the study of the field of clothing in home economics education and life sciences. The method used was the making of paper kimono patterns to obtain an understanding of the kinds of kimono patterns. Acquiring an understanding of patterns through the making of paper patterns has already been proposed by pioneers, but there are several problems in implementing this in class. The first is the reduction of the time allocated to home economics education in elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. The second is that in classes with large number of students, there arise differences in the progress of the learners. Therefore, we targeted female college students in Hokkaido and examined whether there is a method through which one could complete making paper patterns in 30 minutes. This practice was implemented over a period of three years. As a result, it became clear that distribution of instructions on how to make the patterns was effective. |
