内容記述 | With the support of research funds we completed additional studies of the Self-Portrait Method (SPM), originally developed by Koyama in 2005, from various perspectives. In this study, we further examine the SPM using graduate students registered at graduate schools for clinical psychologists. These subjects (n=14) included 6 first-year MA students and 8 second-year students. All subjects were female. All subjects undertook both the TAT, designed to stimulate life experiences, and SPM, designed to allowsubjects to express one's lifeexperience one's self. After undergoing both tests, the subjects were asked to comment on "The points in common and of difference between the SPM and TAT"and "The psychotherapeutic role of and points to remember when using SPM, as well as the possibility of utilizing it." The author then arranged and, based on clinical experience, further modified the comments before examining them. The results revealed that, as a point in common, "both dealt with pictorial stimulation, and both undertook assessment through pictorial stimulation. They reflect, via nonverbal mediation, such as illustrations and drawing, the feelings, thoughts and images of the test subjects. Further, they activate the self-image and imagination of the test subjects." As differences, the subjects commented that "in TAT, thesubject's troubles, insecurities and desires, what we refer to as the subject's `thoughts,'are hidden and are difficult to present directly. On the other hand, using SPM, we can mention our current Client' thoughts. In addition, with regard to the therapeutic effect, although TAT assessment was useful, the carrying out of TAT itself does not have any benefit, whereas SPM has a cathartic effect in allowing one the "express one's thoughts." In other words, they came to understand, among other things, that the ability to express one's self can be both fun and healing. | |||||
