From among the child care functions of children's institutions, everyday living support for children provided mainly by childcare professionals at this type of institution was focused on in this study to identify social work functions in such support with the child care framework as a foundation. Amid calls for greater recognition of the importance of child care social work, the study was intended to clarify social work functions required of child care professionals at children's institutions.
