| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to examine: 1) which religiosities are affected by occupational status;and whether the effects of occupational status on religiosity are stronger than those of ethnicity in contemporary Taiwan. The data come from 2009 Taiwan Social Change Survey and multiple regression analyses are used. I find that: 1) indigenous belief such as belief in ancestral worship and belief in karma are relatively strongly affected by respondent's occupational status; 2) female with higher occupational status tend not to be concerned with indigenous belief or tend to support the principle of separation of government and religion; 3) as for male, the relationship between occupational status and religiosity are not clear; 4) male with lower occupational statuses tend to be more familiar with indigenous belief; and 5) the effects of ethnicity on religiosity are lower than those of occupational status. The findings from this study imply that ethnicity is not necessarily an important determinant of religiosity in contemporary Taiwan. We need to further examine the relationships between occupational status and religiosity in future research. | |||||
