| 内容記述 | It has been long controversial whether to use pedals or not when playing the clavier works of J S. Bach. Bach's clavier works are intended to be played with instruments that produce notes which rapidly recede after the initial keystroke, such as the cembalo and clavichord, or ones that are able to maintain the volume of notes after the keystroke,such as pipe organs. This study investigates the possibilities of playing these clavier works with a modern piano, for which the duration of sounds differs from any of the aforementioned instruments. The keyboard works of J S. Bach often comprise of multiple parts, and most instruments in the 18th century were able to play these parts using double keyboards or organ stops. On the other hand, the modern piano is equipped with a sustain pedal and a soft pedal. When playing the works of J S. Bach with a modern piano, our understanding of the instruments on which the music was originally intended to be played provides the player with a guide for pedal use. This paper proposes techniques to be used to reproduce the music as J S. Bach intended it to sound. | |||||
