| 内容記述 | Tadashi Matsui has been repeating for decades the view that "Picture books are not for children to read, but for adults to read to children. "Through the common experience of being read aloud to by adults, children enter the world of the picture book and come in contact with the power of story-telling. Through story-telling, they experience words by ear. As Tadashi Matsui says,"Spoken words are different from written words. Words seen with the eye are different from those heard with the ear." Words taken in by ear are soon connected to words and children develop the ability to read by themselves. We focused on the picture book activities which children come into contact with via their kindergarten teachers while in their infancy together with the successful picture book "volunteer reader activity,"which has played a successful role in connecting picture books with children since the 1970s, and considered the power of picture books together with that of reading. | |||||
