| 内容記述 | From the mid-1960s to the early 1970s, the focus of rehabilitation for disabled children was shifted from polio to cerebral palsy. In the mid-1970s,Hokkaido took the initiative in promoting early detection and rehabilitation as measures against cerebral palsy. However,given Hokkaido’s geographical conditions,the treatment of those with cerebral palsy who lived in sparsely populated areas was extremely difficult. To reverse the situation, the Hokkaido government sought to develop a more effective rehabilitation system, and therefore commenced full-scale regional support based on a tertiary bloc concept. In response to this scheme proposed by the Hokkaido government, the Hokkaido Infant Rehabilitation Study Group was established in 1987 with the aim of collaborating with representatives in charge of regional rehabilitation. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the study group’s activities. The following is a summary of the activities unprecedented in Japan in which the regional rehabilitation study group has been involved. |
